Well hearts were Jane's February project. And although I hesitated taking time to make hearts, the simple content turned out to yield some wonderful results and taught me so much about working with patterns, textures and values. We began with whole heart designs, then breaking hearts up in to halves, and then quarters... getting fairly complicated. It became really addictive and I just let it happen and it was SO MUCH FUN... it just made me happy to make them.

I ended up mounting the smaller 4" full and half heart designs on 4" wood blocks, then staggering 1/2" and 3/4" heights on a 12" cradled panel. I mounted the 6" quarter hearts directly on a 12" panel and like that result better.
