I decided it needed some arms to hep place it in this environment, but wanted to maintain a feeling of transparency. So I drew my own arms, hands, and transferred them to a sheet of tissue that I'd stained with blue paint... hoping it'd match the blue toned paper of the sketch. Well, it didn't., because the color changed depending on what color it was placed over.... so some turned a distracting violet.
The other thing was - it was taking on a sort of magical feeling and the glasses seemed out of place, so I decided to draw them out. I also painted highlights behind the upper hand, turning more toward a silhouette.
Then I transferred the same arm and hand drawings onto blue toned paper. I tried the arm first, only using a section of it to cover the violet area, hoping to tie the upper arm in with the face tone.
Only one more hand to go.
