Since I'd veered off on some of the first round of pieces based on a soft grid. So I've spent the last 6 days doing these four. I like 3 of them enough that now it's hard to paint over them. Hopefully I'll get the nerve and just do it. The painted subtle grid is still visible in these.
I tried adding a couple faces from a sketchbook, so see how I could deal with mixing in a figure. It does seem to dominate no matter how much scribbling I do over it. But I'll continue working with it because I really want to mix abstract and figurative elements.
This last one was just a problem, I think due to that full circle in the middle of it. But that should make it easier to paint over it. But this last batch shows the painted background soft-grid.
