Two weeks ago I started this large, mixed media drawing/watercolor... 22x38" on 2 pieces of Arches #300 hotpress. The Nic/Gretchen piece inspired me to tackle this one - but in color. It's from the trip to Spain with Gretchen, Heather, Jason and Lissie and it's Parque Guell in Barcelona... really colorful, so it had to be in color. Just recently I saw the very sketchy colored pencil drawings by Curtis Holder and I really wanted to try drawing that way. I began with a sort of mosaic motif in watercolor as background, and began faces in black pencil. I got it to the point in the main picture above, but sort of liked the earlier stage better and wasn't sure how to proceed. I've left it here until some solution comes to me magically.
