Yearning for Fall

Judy Frisk Yearning For Fall

Watercolor and acrylic ink, 6.5×8”

In these hopefully last days of heat and humidity, I find myself imagining cold breezes, reds and golds falling from trees…I’m really ready for Fall. I used both watercolor and acrylic inks for this one. A formal line of trees at the water’s edge, losing their formality when Fall begins blowing their into the water.

For overall texture, I experimented with spraying granulation fluid from a little spray bottle and let it run. I like the effect! In some ways, this also feels like an abstract work that softens to become something from the natural world.
